Support for Linking Linked Data?

Postby jonesdh on Thu Oct 08, 2009 7:21 pm

I'm wondering if ODE or some other OpenLink products may have features that combine browsing of linked data with adding and storing triples entered by the user that establish new relationships between the linked data.

I'm imagining a scenario where someone is integrating two dataset and wants to capture and then use:
- class/property equivalence
- instance equivalence
- relationships between instances

Once these were captured, then this new dataset would be applied to subsequent browsing.

Are you doing anything like this? Do you think such a capability would be intrinsically interesting?

Thanks for any feedback.

Hi Dave,

Unless I am missing what you are saying ODE[1] and Virtuoso[2] already pretty much do what you are seeking. I presume you are aware that ODE uses a Virtuoso Server for performing the "sponging" of metadata (RDF and others) from URLs using the Virtuoso Sponger Cartridges [3] and stores them as RDF triples in Virtuoso ? By default ODE points to a Virtuoso Server we host in the cloud (linkeddata.uriburner.com) but can also be changed to use a local or any other Virtuoso Server. Thus you could setup your own Virtuoso server point your ODE instance at it and any data ODE accesses will be stored in your Virtuoso instance enabling them to then be queried with in the triple stores and relationships, equivalence, inferencing [4] etc be perform on them.

Hope this answers your question ...
